DJ IC5 Bio

IC5 is certainly a DJ who let's his talents do the talking with his back to basics style. Hailing from South-East London, IC5 has been dubbed by many of his peers as the oriental scene's answer to Trevor Nelson, with his smooth mixing, seductive selection and his number one aim – to drop the sexy tracks for the ladies in the building! "What makes me different from the other DJs is i care about the clubbers and the music I play. If the club isn't poppin then IC5 isn't satisfied! My philosophy is if you get the ladies on the dancefloor first, then the night will be bubbling!"

Rewind back to the year 2001, it's a cold, rainy night in Central London and a 17 year old rookie DJ is nervously dragging 3 record bags on his way to his first big gig. This marked the beginning of a long, compelling journey which see's IC5 rise from bedroom DJ status, to an established name in the West-End club scene. "When I first started there were no Oriental DJs on the circuit but this didn't phase me, so I took it upon myself to infiltrate this niche market". After rocking the dancefloor during a marathon 6 hour set, the phonecalls from promoters piled in wanting more from this exciting new talent.

Since that night, IC5 has gone on to playing at some of the biggest hotspots all over the UK including, Cirque, CC Club, Cafe De Paris, CC Club, Ministry Of Sound, Se One, Hammersmith Palais, The Glasshouse, Rococo, Club Colosseum + many more. He's also supported many big name US artists namely Ginuwine, DMX, T.I, Shakira, 112, Lemar, ATL, Jin Tha MC, Jagged Edge, Chris Brown, Outkast as well as some of the top artists in the UK. However, IC5's biggest break came whilst supporting R&B boy group ATL, in the crowd was a man who goes by the name of Reggie "Heavee" Styles. IC5's 1 hour set was enough to convince Reggie to sign up IC5 to label heavyweight Sony BMG, to make him the first ever oriental DJ to be signed to a major label, giving him the opportunity to work on projects with some of the biggest artists in the world.

IC5 currently holds residencies with Shortie Entertainment (www.shortieent.com), DKNC (www.dknc.co.uk), Miss Groov (www.missgroov.com), Urban Arts (www.u-arts.co.uk), Relic Team (www.relicteam.com) as well as regularly touring with the Sony BMG Street team (www.so-urban.com). You can also catch him live on air hosting the Shortie Entertainment Show on Juice UK 102.5fm every Wednesday 10am – 12pm.

"Music is my life and I've longed to see an oriental make their mark on the western music world, whether it's an artist, DJ or radio host and I intend to be the first and inspire others along the way"
